New research has shown the ability to reverse aging in adult stem cells. By manipulating activity of non-coding RNA, considered "genomic junk," aging process on adult cells was reversed. It is believed that the loss of telomeres, a cellular genetic component, leads to the inability of a cell to regenerate. Once we lose this ability, aging follows. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-09/giot-stb092011.php
